Vancouver, BC, Canada – October 20, 2017 – Willis Enterprises, Inc is implementing 3LOG’s LIMS solution at their operations in the state of Washington.
Lori Dolan had experienced a 3LOG implementation and a user conference first hand while she was with Port Blakely Companies. Coming to Willis Enterprises, Lori was well versed with the 3LOG product, consultants and support personnel. It helped everyone become comfortable with 3LOG quickly and it made for an easy decision to move forward.
Willis Enterprises, Inc. is a closely held corporation. It was started in 1987 as a whole log chipping operation. The company now has whole log chipping operations in Hoquiam, Oakville, Everett, Belfair, and Cle Elum, Washington along with a whole log chipping operation in Bonner, MT. In 2009, Willis purchased an existing veneer plant in Aberdeen, WA and that mill is in full operation at this time with whole log chipping capability. In 2016, Willis purchased a plywood mill in Hoquiam, WA. The veneer mill transfers veneer to the plywood mill and treats it as an intercompany sale. In 2017, Willis purchased Quinault Log and renamed it Harbor Timber.
Harbor Timber and Quinault Partners sell logs to outside entities along with intercompany sales to Willis’ Hoquiam chip mill and the veneer mill.
Quinault Partners is a joint venture between Willis Enterprises dba Harbor Timber (HT) and the Quinault Land and Timber Enterprise (QLTE). Quinault Partners (HT/QLTE) purchases stumpage sales on the Quinault Indian Reservation. In addition to this, Harbor Timber purchases stumpage sales off reservation independent of the joint venture.
