Richmond, B.C. – 3LOG Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that Weyerhaeuser has selected 3LOG’sLIMS solution for their Roundwood And Fiber Tracking project. This project (hereafter known as RAFT) will replace eight existing raw and material applications with a single system.
58 Mills and 42 Weigh Scales are impacted by RAFT. They include Weyerhaeuser operations in the Southeast, Northeast, Midwest of the United States, as well as some West Coast locations. Businesses involved include:
- Composites
- Northwest Hardwoods
- Pulp, Paper and Packaging
- Southern Timberlands
- Structurewood
RAFT requirements include the purchase of standing timber, logs, and gatewood, harvest and hauls payments, sales to third parties, and internal Weyerhaeuser transfers. 3LOG provides solutions to manage all of Weyerhaeuser’s raw material handling needs including: WeighWiz for log and chip receiving at weigh scales, LabWiz for chip quality tracking, and LIMS for raw material tracking, contractor pay and inventory control.
Weyerhaeuser benefits by standardizing its raw material system across their North American operations. LIMS provides better management of production information. New technology is leveraged to improve employee effectiveness and reducing IT costs.
3LOG is delighted to partner with Weyerhaeuser again after the successful LIMS implementation across Weyerhaeuser’s Canadian Forestlands operations. This implementation completed in Dec 2004, on time and on budget. 3LOG continues to work closely with Weyerhaeuser to ensure that the RAFT implementation is done effectively, with minimal disruption to their daily operations.
The implementation is scheduled to complete in Spring 2007.
