On September 1, 2004, LIMS and WeighWiz went live at Apollo Forest Products (AFP) site located in Fort St. James, British Columbia.
With the implementation of LIMS, AFP can now manage the company’s forest products supply chain in real time. This allows managers, executives, sales associates, or clerical staffs to have clear, instant, and most importantly, accurate information about the company’s operations, even while on the road or when working from home.
Not only has LIMS integrated with AFP’s existing contract and payment systems to provide a more secure and multi-user working environment on all financial managements, LIMS has also improved AFP’s capability of storing load, inventory, and stumpage information, printable in a user-friendly report format. Data and information such as log samples and year-to-date conversions can now be imported from an external source, or exported to other third-party applications (e.g. MS Excel), thanks to LIMS’s importing/exporting feature.
With the advantage of data synchronization between LIMS and WeighWiz, information of scaled loads can now be efficiently collected by WeighWiz at Weight Scale stations and then transferred to LIMS for further analysis. LIMS has also integrated with AFP’s existing handheld devices to provide a seamless way to collect scaled logs information and send to the Harvesting Billing System (HBS) Internet site.
From now on, AFP will benefit from productivity gains by using LIMS, a more efficient way of doing business.
