3LOG Systems has signed a project agreement
with J. M. Longyear in Marquette, Michigan
November 1999
We have already put together our proposal for a new
LIMS project with Mistik Management Ltd in late October. This project
will start at the beginning of December 1999 and may carry on until
March of next year, depending on Mistik’s functional specifications
on LIMS and WeighScale issue.
As Mistik has already demanded, its LIMS will contain
a Text File Import Designer. 3LOG’s team enthusiastically
involves in strategic planning, implementation planning, and system
integration. After receiving Mistik’s ideas, 3LOG develop
this module, which uses to design and save Import Maps for interpreting
import text files. For example, when one wants to import a file
into the main database, he/she could manually select, or let LIMS
automatically select a previously designed Import Map (data format).
The chosen Import Map will then be used to verify data types during
importing.
We are currently extracting details from Mistik’s
current system and consulting with Mistik personnel for functional
requirements. We have already recognized some functional specifications
such as building essential triggers in database enhancement, but
customizations in modules will need to be discussed in the future.
We will finalize our project implementation by building on-line
reports at the beginning of March. The employee training sessions
will start in March as well. We offer customized training in data
management including preparation, collection and maintenance, quality
control and assurance, as well as training in the operation of a
full range of LIMS and WeighScale software applications.

The word “Mistik” in the Cree language means
wood. Containing the meaning of wood in its name, it provides management
for forestry activities concerning both environmental and wildlife
issues. Mistik is located in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The company
is owned by NorSask Forest Products Inc and Millar Western (Meadow
Lake) Pulp Ltd. It provides other companies with services for forestry,
solid wood, and pulp and paper industries.
