Stora Enso Port Hawkesbury combines the power
of 3LOG’s LIMS with the 3LOG’s WeighScale Station software

Stora Enso of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia has awarded
a contract for the implementation of a new “Woodlands Information
System” to 3LOG Systems Inc. and INFORM of British Columbia,
Canada
LIMS - Log Inventory Management System from 3LOG Systems Inc. of
Richmond, BC (www.3log.com), easily
integrates with the TFM – The Forest Manager Geographic Information
System of INFORM, BC (www.informgis.com),
to provide a complete forest management system that companies like
Stora Enso are looking for.
Stora Enso is one of the world’s leading forest product companies,
with some 45,000 employees working in more than 40 countries around
the world. Its operations are located in Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden,
Germany and other European countries. Stora Enso holds a world-leading
position in magazine papers, newsprint, fine paper and packaging
boards, and timber products.
All modules of LIMS and the real-time WeighWiz weigh scale management
software will be deployed and integrated along with the TFM system
to provide a seamless flow of information, from the initial planning
stage to final harvesting and post harvest operations, and include:
- Annual harvest Planning
- Cruising & Logging contract rate analysis
- Wood Deliveries & Scaling
- Silviculture
- Setup of logging and hauling Jobs, Stumpage, and
payments
- Log and bulk product procurement including payables,
receivables and GL entries
- Log and bulk products Inventory
- Transportation management
- Stumpage Payments
- Cut Control
With LIMS, reports can be generated in minutes using
current and relevant data. The ability to see operational reports
in real-time enables managers and controllers to respond quickly
to challenges and to make better decisions to control and reduce
costs.
Stora Enso will benefit both from individual and group
productivity since LIMS allows users to eliminate manual tasks and
duplication, restructure and improve work processes. Over the next
several months 3LOG and INFORM staff will be working with Stora
Enso to deploy the integrated system.
