3LOG Systems received a purchase order from
Roseburg Forest Products for both LIMS and WeighStation software
October 1999
In late September, we received a purchase order from
Roseburg Forest Products, demanding for both LIMS and WeighStation
(WeighScale - Canadian term) software for its headquarter in Roseburg,
Oregon, as well as its weigh station at Dillard, Oregon.
The project will start soon and may end in May 2000,
depending on Roseburg’s functional requirements. In November,
we will send representatives to Roseburg, Oregon, for project initiations
and requirement modeling. It would take about three or four months
for the entire developing, customization and testing period. After
the installation and implementation of the customized LIMS software,
training sessions will be provided on site on April 2000. As well,
a 90-day free customer services period will be offered as a guarantee
to users’ satisfaction.
Although Roseburg has not yet declared its
functional specifications on LIMS and WeighScale, we highly
recommend the synchronization
feature of LIMS and WeighScale to the seven weigh stations of
Roseburg. Synchronization allows users to update data either
automatically or manually. At the weigh stations, users can specify
a time for synchronization so that the data in the WeighScale
soft will be transferred to the main database automatically.
Meanwhile, the main server can also send updated information
to all weigh stations at the specified moment. With synchronization,
data in Roseburg’s weigh stations can be exchanged and
verified with those in the main server everyday.

forest products manufacturing and marketing organizations in US
nowadays. Its establishment goes back to 1936 when Kenneth W. Ford
set up the Roseburg Lumber Co., the early stage of Roseburg Forest

a year later, it also began to produce firewood and sawdust.
