SFK has some unique business challenges operating in both English and French and LIMS was able to address the multilingual requirements. SFK is taking advantage of the robust functionality available within LIMS, WeighWiz and LabWiz to automate their operations and become more efficient. SFK Pulp's Saint-Félicien Mill is located in Saint-Félicien, Québec, approximately 450 kilometres north of Montreal in the Lac-St-Jean region. The Saint-Félicien Mill manufactures high-quality NBSK pulp. The Saint-Félicien Mill commenced production in 1978 with an initial capacity of approximately 670 tonnes per day. Improvements to the Saint-Félicien Mill over the years have allowed for an increase in its capacity to approximately 1,045 tonnes per day (or 360,000 tonnes per year), contributed to maintaining the Saint-Félicien Mill's competitive cost position and improved the quality of its product. The Saint-Félicien Mill supplies NBSK pulp to various sectors of the paper industry, for use in products such as lightweight coated papers, groundwood specialities, supercalendered grades, high-quality woodfree coated grades and uncoated papers.
