Another Client from the Prairies — Footner Forest
Products

While we were striving for J. M. Longyear throughout
this summer, another request for LIMS and 3LOG's WEIGHWIZ software
was received at the middle of August. Our new client, Footner Forest
Products, is currently building its Orientated Strand Board Operation
at High Level Plant in Northern Alberta.
Both the parent companies of this joint venture, Ainsworth
Forest Products Ltd., and Grant Forest Products, use the LIMS system.
The reliability and performance of the LIMS system is the main reason
Footner Forest Products chose this Oracle based open client server
application
The other reason was that with the 3LOG Systems’
integrated scale software (WEIGHWIZ), loads are recorded directly
to the LIMS database and a high level of efficiency is achieved.
With real time weight auditing and other controls, unmanned scale
operation is easy to achieve.
Since August we have already made a site visit and collected
some functional specifications. The detail design schema will
be revised soon for finalizing the preparations for the project.
At the middle of September, the entire development will begin
and will last for two months. Later, we will provide on-site
tutorials to help Footner woodlands personnel accustom to LIMS.
The operations like Footner, Grant and Ainsworth’s
OSB plant is the leading edge of the forestry industry, and LIMS
is the system they choose.
