Washington Alder to Implement 3LOG's Inventory Management Software

RICHMOND, BC – We are pleased to announce that Washington Alder LLC will be implementing
3LOG’s Log Inventory & Management System (LIMS) on November 1, 2005 at their three mills, based out of
Mt. Vernon, WA. LIMS will assist this growing business with load receiving, inventory, and contract
management for all three sites.
Implementing LIMS, with its multi-division features, reliability, and distributed architecture,
is part of Washington Alder’s move to enterprise wide systems uniting their sites. LIMS will clearly help
during this transition and will provide detailed material cost and inventory data to Washington Alder’s recently
upgraded accounting system.
3LOG’s LIMS has a proven track record based on implementations at more than 100 sites throughout
Canada and the US, supporting anywhere from 2 to 100 users.
Washington Alder is also putting into operation 3LOG’s
WeighWiz
scale software at each of its mills.
WeighWiz software is a weight data collection system designed for truck drivers or weigh-masters to automatically
capture the true load weight as it passes over scales. Scale data is then synchronized in real-time with the main server
in Mt. Vernon to report the arriving inventory as accurately as possible.

availability of scales, even when local and wide area networks fail. Database backup is easily managed with other
corporate systems.
- Detailed reporting and convenience – LIMS creates analytic and activity reports for scales, woodpiles,
wood costs, and full transaction history by vendor or load. LIMS can also send reports by fax or e-mail to vendors
or customers.
- Security – LIMS fully supports Role Based Enterprise security for databases and extends security to
restrict users on a per division basis. Users can be restricted to tasks, forms, or reports.
- Sustainability – LIMS uses economical Windows PCs and industry standard multi-user databases.
3LOG provides full support as well as ongoing upgrades and maintenance releases.
