British Columbia Ministry of Forests granted
approval to WeighWizBC (Version 1.0)

3LOG Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that the British
Columbia Ministry of Forests (MOF) has approved 3LOG’s WeighWizBC
(Version 1.0) software solution for use at BC weigh scales. WeighWizBC
is a customized version of 3LOG's WeighWiz software program. It
utilizes functional features suitable to meet weigh scale software
needs for the Harvest Billing System (HBS).
The British Columbia Ministry of Forests is updating
the way they collect information and calculate billing for timber
harvested in BC. They are replacing their existing process with
a new system known as the Harvest Billing System (HBS). This new
system uses Internet technology to collect information about harvested
timber from the companies responsible for scaling the timber.
The approval for HBS use confirms that WeighWizBC (Version
1.0) software:
- Randomly selects loads for stratum sampling.
- Complies with the requirements set out in the HBS
Technical Specifications for industry.
- Successfully produces back-up and scale site audit
reports.
- Successfully transfers electronic scale information
to HBS.
- Successfully passes HBS format edits.
WeighWizBC captures information about all loads entering
or leaving the scale site. Because different types of loads require
different information, loads are categorized as follows:
- Timber arriving at a scale site
- Timber departing a scale site
- Non-timber loads arriving at a scale site
- Non-timber loads departing a scale site
Each of these categories has its own process for capturing
load information in WeighWizBC.
