Weyerhaeuser has completed LIMS implementation across Canada

Richmond, B.C. –3LOG SYSTEMS
Inc. of Richmond, BC, Canada announced today that it has
successfully implemented LIMS Log Inventory
and Management System across Weyerhaeuser's Canadian Forestlands operations in
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New
Brunswick. LIMS was implemented on time and under budget.
Weyerhaeuser implemented LIMS in stages, one province at a time.
Saskatchewan mills were the first to go live, in May 2004. The
mills in the BC Interior went live in December 2004, completing
the implementation.
Eleven different raw material systems were replaced with a single
integrated 3LOG solution. Twenty operations, including Pulp and
Paper mills, OSB plants and Sawmills now use a common system.
WeighWiz manages log and chip receiving at weigh scales,
LabWiz
manages chip quality and LIMS manages raw materials, contractor
payments and inventory.
LIMS provides a consistent, reliable and feature-rich raw material
solution. It features contract management, production
reporting, transportation management, contractor and crown
settlements and other tools to allow Weyerhaeuser to manage its
raw material business more effectively. Weyerhaeuser now has
better quality and production information available to
operations, while reducing operations and I.T. costs.
